Szamostatárfalva, Calvinist church

"The village lies on the right bank of the Szamos, and was named after a man called Tatár, who was mentioned in 1181. The church’s sanctuary faces east, and the building consists of a single nave and a polygonal apse. Construction dates to the second half of the 13th century or the beginning of the 14th. As already noted in the 19th century, the building has a unique feature: the walls are made of red, green, and black bricks. The church had already been taken over by the Calvinist in the 17th century. The gallery dates from the 18th century, while the pulpit, benches, and seats for the minister to the 19th. The bell tower was built in 1888. In 1964-65, the church was restored."
